The former Wendy's location just off of the Evangeline Thruway. in Lafayette will soon be serving up daiquiris and crawfish instead of spicy nuggets with a side of chili.

Daiquiri Depo's original location on the Evangeline Thruway burned down close to a year ago, and because of the pandemic making materials hard to get and expensive, the owners say it just didn't make sense to rebuild.

Making progress...hopefully by next month we will officially be open for business!!!

Heather and Kris Louvierre tell theadvocate.com that after the original location, which first opened in 1984, burned down, they were hoping "to find a building somewhere close to our old location, kind of like a restaurant style drive-thru, ready to go, that we needed."

After Wendy's announced the closing of two Lafayette locations last December, the Louvierre's hopes turned into a reality.

The new location at 241 Donlon Ave will actually provide them with twice the space of their previous one.
