Lake Charles Weather Radar Finally Repaired

For those of us who count ourselves among the social group known as "weather geeks," yesterday was a very good day. No, it wasn't because a high-pressure system had pushed in cooler air with lower humidity. It was because one of our old friends has finally made it back to work.

That is a time-lapse video of the National Weather Service Office radar in Lake Charles being reassembled after being repaired. You might be wondering, "how does one break a weather radar"? Well, usually "one" doesn't. It takes something pretty powerful. Something as powerful as a Category 4 Hurricane. Which the Lake Charles area experienced on August 27th when Hurricane Laura made landfall in Cameron Parish.
