With summer here, our Louisiana State Parks are taking precautions to ensure that everyone is safe when the Morganza Spillway is set to be opened up this weekend.

In an official Facebook post, the government and public service organization stated that Lake Fausse Point State Park cabins and day use areas are closed, due to high water and expected rains this week.(See the official statement below) They are expected to re-open on June 6th. In another statement, the department said they will be monitoring the situation and will update the public accordingly.
