The largest job recruitment event in Acadiana will happen on Wednesday at the Cajundome Convention Center in Lafayette.

The one-day free event brings together dozens of Acadiana's top employers with job seekers. It begins at 9 a.m. and will last until 3 p.m.

“The LEDA Job Fair is an excellent opportunity to meet face to face with hiring managers from multiple employers all on one day and in one place,” says Ryan LaGrange, LEDA Director of Workforce Development. “We hear success stories every year following the job fair from both job seekers and employers. This event continues to have a tremendous impact on the community, assisting both job seekers and businesses.”

Last year alone 116 companies participated in the event and similar numbers are expected this year. These companies come from all sectors of business and industry.

“LEDA works diligently to secure a good cross-section of employers, reflective of the region’s business base,” says Gregg Gothreaux, LEDA President and CEO. “These companies are offering jobs ranging from entry-level to executive, from those needing little training to those requiring advanced degrees.”

Facet will lead a seminar at 10:00 a.m. about Preparing for Different Types of Interviews. Career Consultant Danielle Dayries returns at 11:00 a.m. with her popular résumé writing seminar, How to Write a Powerful Résumé. At 1:00 p.m., Laurie J. James concludes the seminar series with her program, I’ve Submitted a Resume...Now What? The seminars will be held in the job fair exhibit hall.
