The overall mission is aimed at restoring family relationships, healing emotional wounds, and giving fathers a chance to show love to their daughters in a way that’s deeply meaningful.

From godbehindbars.com -

For one night, fathers who have missed birthdays, school dances, and important milestones will be reunited with their little girls inside of the prison chapel. Moments that seemed lost forever will be redeemed as dads take their daughters by the hand and create memories they never thought possible.

Who Pays For Daddy-Daughter Dances

God Behind Bars raises money through their website, godbehindbars.com, to cover the costs for things like dresses for the girls, food, transportation, and decorations.

They run campaigns so people outside can “sponsor a father” but they emphasize that all fathers and daughters in the event receive the same experience, regardless of individual sponsorship.
