Governor Landry’s ‘Secret Revenge’ on California? Could Be
(KMDL-FM) Just so you know where the origin of where this article is coming from. I am not a trained political observer such as Moon Griffon. I am merely an individual who asks more questions than I probably should, and when it comes to politics, my questions always seem to border on the ridiculous to the absurd, so you've been warned.

Have you ever noticed the similarity between toddler fights and political fights? In a toddler fight, there are usually diapers full of poo. In a political fight, they don't wear diapers. And just like toddlers go crying to their moms, the politicos head for the news networks to share how hurt, injured, disrespected, and wronged they were.
Louisiana and California Lawmakers Clash on Just About Everything
Lately, there has been a bit of a combative tone between the leadership of the state of Louisiana and the leadership of the state of California. The political ideology of the two states is about as far apart as the geographic distance seems to be.

You might recall some unsavory comments back and forth between Louisiana's Attorney General Liz Murril and California's Governor Gavin Newsom. We apologize for the offensive language in the "tweet." Or is an "x" now?
Now, if these were toddlers, there would be, or at least should be, some repercussions for such language. But these are politicians, and "butt-hurt" is a way of life for them. But that doesn't mean one bad action can't lead to a bit of revenge.
Here is where I am going to go full MythBusters on you. On that TV show, a myth was either confirmed, busted, or plausible. The following scenario is not based on solid facts; it is based on what the courts might call circumstantial evidence, but it does fall under the "plausible" heading, at least in my opinion.
We have established that there is discourse between Governor Newsom and Governor Landry.
So maybe, just maybe, the following issue that is now becoming a real problem in California had its humble beginnings in Louisiana. You see, right now, the state of California is under a severe threat from Nutria.
Yeah, the same orange-toothed rodents we have in our swamps are now pillaging that state's agricultural community. The speculation among many in California, this is where the circumstantial evidence comes in, is that the creatures were brought to California and maliciously and intentionally released.
The California Department of Wildlife does suggest that the Nutria found in that state are more closely related to the nutria that are found in Oregon. But the state of California eradicated the creatures in the 1970s.

Fast forward to 2017, a pregnant nutria was discovered in Merced County, which is suspiciously close to California's capital city of Sacramento. Hmm, did Jeff Landry, who was Louisiana's Attorney General at that time, visit California during that year?
Is it possible that private aircraft, government aircraft in particular, are not as closely searched and inspected as commercial aircraft might be?
Is it possible to put a pair of adult nutria in a pet carrier and carry them across the nation and secretly release them?
Is There A Louisiana Connection to California's Nutria Problem?
Based on what we have learned, the answers to those questions are plausible, plausible, and plausible for the trifecta. We aren't saying any of this happened, but simply suggesting that it could have happened.
And this, ladies and gentlemen, is how rumors get started. Don't you love politics?
