High School Seniors are graduating all over Acadiana right now, and many are uncertain what the future of their education holds regarding Louisiana's TOPS program. Today, Louisiana's Education Committee will meet to discuss raising the GPA requirement for the program.

KATC reports Louisiana Senator Gene Reynolds will propose a bill today raising the TOPS program GPA requirement for initial eligibility from 2.5 to 3.0.

If passed, the bill will apply to students graduating from high school during, or after the 2020-2021 school year.

As a father who's son is graduating this Saturday, I'm watching the whole TOPS program hullabaloo pretty closely and will definitely keep you posted as new information becomes available.
