Louisiana Lottery Confirms $50,000 Winner on Saturday Night

Lady Luck was in Louisiana this Memorial Day Weekend. The "Lady" was around long enough to make sure that at least one lucky Louisiana Lottery player had a long holiday weekend to remember. Now, it's not like Louisiana players have been lucky in the lottery in recent weeks.

There was a $2,000,000 winner sold for the Mega Millions Game this past Tuesday. Our sources with the Louisiana Lottery have confirmed that the ticket was sold in New Orleans at the Chef Chevron on Chef Menteur Highway. The big money winner matched all five of the white balls and only the missed jackpot by one number when the ticket did not match the Mega Ball for May 21, 2024.

The Mega Millions jackpot has been consistently climbing since that big win and when they draw again on Tuesday night the game's top prize is estimated to be $ 489 Million.  Incidentally, the Texas Lottery has confirmed a $3,000,000 winner that was sold in Houston, Texas for this past Friday's drawing, so if you happened to purchase a Mega Millions ticket in Houston last week, check your numbers.

The Texas Lottery is also confirming a $1,000,000 win in Saturday's Powerball drawing from just a few nights ago. That one million dollar winner was sold in Moore, Texas a suburb of San Antonio.

Meanwhile, Saturday night was a busy night for big wins in Louisiana as well. The Louisiana Lottery has confirmed that while the state's lottery players did not earn a payout of more than $10,000 in Powerball or in Lotto, the Easy 5 game once again paid out in a big way.

The Louisiana Lottery has confirmed that a New Orleans-sold ticket matched the numbers needed to claim the Easy 5 Jackpot of $100,000. We should note that the game also produced 20 $100 winners, so if you played Easy 5 on Saturday, May 25, 2024, do check your numbers.

Tonight's Powerball drawing will be for an estimated $131 million. That drawing happens tonight at 9:59 Louisiana time. By rule, ticket sales must cease one hour before the drawing so if you plan on playing make sure you secure your ticket in time.
