Louisiana Lottery Confirms Mega Millions Winner Tuesday Night
It is an ill wind that blows no good and despite the fact that many residents of Louisiana are still hurting from Monday night's severe weather outbreak in St. Martin, St.Landry, Calcasieu, and Point Coupee Parishes, we do have a bit of silver lining to share with you.
While Mother Nature was blowing down trees and limbs, she at least didn't blow Lady Luck away from the state. We can confirm that because the Louisiana Lottery is reporting a major money win in Tuesday's Mega Millions Lottery.
Mega Millions is one of two multi-state lottery games available to Louisiana players. The game holds drawings on Tuesday and Friday nights. Last night, May 14, 2024, the Mega Millions game held a drawing for an estimated annuitized jackpot prize of $363 million.
Here's how that drawing unfolded.
In order to win the game's top prize a player must match five of the white balls drawn and the gold Mega Ball. A ticket purchaser might also opt-in on the Megaplier which is chosen at random and could multiply any jackpot, except for the top prize by whatever number is drawn.
The numbers for May 14, 2024, in the Mega Millions game were:
13 19 43 62 64 Mega Ball 06 Megaplier x3
You will want to verify your numbers at the Official Mega Millions site or the Official Louisiana Lottery site. You can enter your numbers there and see exactly how much your ticket is worth. You can also find special redemption information on big-money prizes.
Louisiana did have a big money winner in Tuesday's drawing. In addition to two tickets valued at $1,500, four tickets valued at $600, and three tickets valued at $500 the Louisiana Lottery has confirmed a $30,000 winner was sold in the state for Tuesday's game.
Our sources at the Louisiana Lottery offices in Baton Rouge tell us that the big money winner matched four of the white balls, the Mega Ball, and they opted for the Megaplier too. By rule, the ticket is a $10,000 winner but with the Megaplier option that value is three times or $30,000.
If that store looks familiar to you, then by all means, check your ticket. That store is Nocko's on Grand Caillou Road in Houma. That's where the Louisiana Lottery says the big-money winner was sold.
There was no big jackpot winner in Mega Millions on Tuesday. That jackpot will increase to an estimated annuitized top prize of $393 million for Friday's drawing. Tonight's Powerball is an estimated $59 million. That drawing takes place just before 10 p.m. tonight.
Please remember not all lottery tickets purchased result in a return on your investment. In fact, most tickets don't win anything so spend only what you can afford to lose. If you have a gambling problem and want help, call 1-877-770-STOP (7867). The call and the referral are free. Good Luck.
