Big Wins Saturday- Louisiana Lottery Reveals Details

(KMDL-FM) Most of us tend to think of Saturday as Louisiana's biggest lottery night. There are two in-state drawings, Lotto and Easy 5, and there is the multi-state Powerball drawing that takes place too. In Powerball and Easy 5, the Louisiana Lottery has confirmed some big wins in the state for those games.

Louisiana Powerball Ticket Wins $150,000, Easy 5 Ticket Wins $90,000

The Powerball win was not a jackpot win, but it was worth $150,000. The Easy 5 win was a jackpot win. The winning ticket in that game earned a prize of $90,000. Easy 5 has a traditional starting jackpot of $50,000, so there has been a jackpot win in that game in the past week or so.

Powerball has been a different animal in Louisiana. Historically, July is a slow month for Powerball wins in the state, but we did have a few, and we certainly started August with a bang. Y'all did realize it's now August, didn't you?

Where Were Louisiana's Big Lottery Winners Sold?

Our sources at the Louisiana Lottery confirmed the Easy 5 jackpot winner was sold in Alexandria. One ticket matched the five numbers needed to claim the game's top prize. 24 other tickets matched four of the five numbers drawn, each worth $100.

Easy 5 will now reset the jackpot amount to $50,000 for the game's next drawing on Wednesday night. Meanwhile, Powerball did not get a jackpot win on Saturday, but there were some big-ticket wins across the game's footprint.

Our sources at Powerball confirmed six tickets matched all five of the white balls but whiffed on the Powerball. Of those tickets, one sold in Virginia opted for the Power Play feature, which means their prize is $2 million.

Other Match 5 Million wins were confirmed in Texas; the big winner there was sold in Allen, Texas. Other big wins were three Match 5 Million winners sold in California, and another was purchased in Maryland.

The Louisiana Lottery winners page shows several thousand Powerball players in the state earned at least their money back or, if they opted for Power Play, three times their investment. The Powerball Jackpot will continue to climb since there was no jackpot win.

The next Powerball drawing will take place on Monday, August 3, 2026. The estimated jackpot amount is $748 million for the annuity. The cash payout jackpot is estimated to be $325.1 million. Easy 5 will reset to $50,000 on Wednesday.

There was no jackpot winner in Lotto; that game now features a jackpot prize of $3.075 million. The Lotto game will draw next on Wednesday night. That more than $3 million jackpot is rare for the Lotto game; it doesn't usually grow to be that large.
