(KMDL-FM) More good news came out of Baton Rouge for Powerball players in Louisiana on Wednesday night. The Louisiana Lottery, along with Powerball officials, confirmed that a state-sold ticket won the second-largest prize paid out by the multi-state lottery in the October 14th drawing.

Heading into Wednesday's drawing, lottery players had been on a bit of a roll with recent jackpot wins in the Easy 5 game, the Lotto game, and some big wins in the Powerball game in recent weeks as well. Heck, there was even a one-million-dollar prize winner about ten days ago, so Lady Luck has been living along the bayou.

In Wednesday's drawing, the advertised jackpot amount for Powerball was $566 million. That was for the annuity. The lump sum or cash payout was advertised to be $231.9 million. No tickets sold for the drawing matched all the numbers needed to claim either of those jackpot amounts.

There was a ticket sold in Minnesota that matched all five of the white balls. The prize for that number match scenario is $1 million. If they had purchased Power Play, then the amount would have been $2 million.

What Were The Winning Powerball Numbers for October 14, 2026?

The winning numbers for the Wednesday, October 14, 2026 Powerball drawing were:

03   34   37   42   46   Powerball 20   Power Play x3

Three other tickets earned a prize of $150,000; the Louisiana-sold ticket was one of those big winners. The ticket matched four of five white balls and the Powerball. By rule, that prize is $50,000. A dozen tickets sold for Wednesday's drawing had that match scenario. But the Louisiana winner and two others added the Power Play feature to their ticket, hence the "x3" and a total prize of $150,000.

The Powerball jackpot will continue to grow ahead of the game's next drawing, which will be held on Saturday night. The estimated annuity prize is $600 million. The lump sum prize for Powerball is estimated to be $246 million by Saturday night.

Meanwhile, in last night's Louisiana Lottery Lotto drawing, there was no jackpot winner. That game will feature a jackpot prize of $800,000. Not a bad win for a $1 investment. Or you could spend money on the Easy 5 game; it also costs a dollar. The top prize on Saturday in that game will be $70,000.

Major Lottery Prizes Set to Expire in Louisiana in Less Than Two Weeks

Quick reminder: a $1 million Powerball winner will expire on October 26, and a $50,000 Easy 5 winner will expire on October 22. The Easy 5 winner was purchased in Rayville; the Powerball winner was purchased in Baton Rouge. Prize money not claimed will be returned to the Louisiana Lottery, where it will be used to fund more prizes and enhance player experiences.
