(KMDL-FM) Wednesday nights are big nights across Louisiana's lottery landscape.  Our state participates in the multi-state Powerball drawing on Wednesdays, and we also have two state-sponsored games, Lotto and Easy 5, that draw on Wednesdays as well. The Louisiana Lottery has confirmed that state players earned two major prize wins from those three drawings last night.

One of those big wins came in the Powerball game. That prize was $100,000. The other win was a jackpot win, finally for the Lotto game. The Lotto game in Louisiana had not had a jackpot winner since January 3rd of this year, but after more than eight months, we can finally confirm that the Lotto jackpot of $3.75 million has a winner.

Lafayette Gets Its Second Big Lottery Win of the Week with $3.75 Million Jackpot

We can also confirm, via the Louisiana Lottery's Big Wins page, that the multi-million dollar Lotto jackpot winner was purchased in Lafayette, Louisiana. This is the second big lottery win for Lafayette this week. It was revealed earlier that a Powerball ticket sold in Lafayette for Monday's drawing earned a $100,000 prize.

In the Lotto game, a player will choose six numbers from a pool of 1 to 42. The game costs $1 to play. The player may choose their own numbers, or they can opt for a computer-generated quick pick. The numbers that were drawn for the Lotto game for September 2, 2026, were:

20   21   23   25   32   38

If those numbers match the numbers on your valid Lotto ticket for the September 2, 2026, drawing, you'll need to contact the Lafayette Regional Office of the Louisiana Lottery. They will instruct you on what your next steps need to be.

We do suggest you sign the back of the ticket and keep it in a safe place until you have determined how you'd like the "payout process" to proceed.

If you'd like to relive the Powerball drawing for September 2, 2026, you can. We can tell you that the numbers that came rolling out of the hopper in that drawing were:

03   10   29   58   64   Powerball   14    Power Play x2

There was no jackpot winner in Powerball on Wednesday, so the next time they draw, the estimated top prize will be $173 million. There was a Match 5 Million winner sold in California; that was the largest Powerball prize awarded on Wednesday.

Meanwhile, a Louisiana-sold Powerball ticket was one of only three $100,000 winners in Wednesday's game. The tickets that won that prize each matched four of the five white balls and the red Powerball. Plus, those ticket purchasers opted for the Power Play feature of the game. For Wednesday's drawing, that meant a multiplier of two, hence the $100,000 prize.

The Louisiana Lottery has not released point-of-purchase details on that winning ticket. We do anticipate getting that information later this morning. There was no jackpot win in Wednesday's Easy 5 drawing; that jackpot now climbs to $110,000 for the next drawing on Saturday night.
