Did you know that there are 270 Circle K convenience stores in Louisiana? They serve communities such as Lafayette, New Iberia, Morgan City, and Baton Rouge. People visit the Circle K for gas, snacks, cold beer, and the chance to get rich by playing the games of the Louisiana Lottery.

The Louisiana Lottery offers many of its scratch-off games through Circle K. Perhaps you've tried your luck on a one-dollar, two-dollar, or even a ten-dollar game. I don't normally see a lot of folks buying "scratchers" at the Circle K but I do see a lot of folks interested in the big money of Powerball, Mega Millions, Lotto, and Easy 5.

In case you were too tied up with football over the weekend, let's get you caught up on where each of those games stands as we end September and move into October. First, the big one, Powerball.

The game will draw tonight for an estimated top prize of $258 million. There was no jackpot winner on Saturday night so that's how we have arrived at the current estimated annuity for tonight's drawing. That drawing will take place just before 10 pm. If you want to participate you'll need to buy your ticket before 9 pm.

The Powerball jackpot is the largest jackpot on the board this week. Mega Millions had a big winner not to long ago and the jackpot in that game has risen to $93 million for the estimated annuity on Tuesday evening.

Easy 5, a game from the Louisiana Lottery had a jackpot winner on September 7th. The prize in that game was $60,000. Since that drawing the estimated jackpot amount for Easy 5 has grown to $110,000. Your next chance to play and win Easy 5 will come on Wednesday night.

That brings us to Lotto. The current jackpot amount for Lotto from the Louisiana Lottery is $500,000. Which is where the game's top prize resets to after a big win. And yes, there was a big win on Saturday night in Louisiana and you've probably figured out the winning ticket was purchased at a Circle K store.

Our sources at the Louisiana Lottery offices in Baton Rouge tell us the $875,000 winner was sold at Circle K #2723767. In case that name doesn't ring a bell, most of you would know that as the "Circle K on Highway 43 in Albany, Louisiana.

In keeping with the statistical probabilities theory that I have developed over the years, the winning ticket was purchased, like most of them are, within 50 miles of I-10. Albany is in Livingstone Parish if you've slept since your Louisiana History classes in junior high school.

Louisiana $50,000 Powerball Winner to Expire on Thursday

Congratulations to the winner of the big money this weekend. I hope you spend it wisely. Incidentally, a $50,000 Powerball winner from April 6th is going to expire on Thursday, October 3rd. That winner was purchased in New Orleans at Lakeview Discount on Harrison Avenue in the Big Easy. If you played Powerball back in April in New Orleans you could miss out if you don't act fast.

As always we encourage responsible play with these and all lottery games. If you have a gambling problem help is available by calling 1-877-770- STOP (7867). The call and the referrals to counseling are at no charge to you or your family. Good  Luck.
