What a special moment.

Watch as 57-year-old Christopher A. Lanclos, who is a Hammond nursing home resident, has a lifelong dream come true.

Christopher always wanted to get involved in law enforcement, like his father who was a police officer in Broussard, and when Sheriff Edwards of The Tangipahoa Parish Sheriff's Office heard of his dream, he made it come true.

Sheriff Edwards awarded Lanclos with the title of an honorary deputy and that even came with Christopher getting to ride in a unit with a fellow deputy.

In the Facebook post by the Sheriff's Office, Sheriff Edwards said, "When I learned of Chris's love and desire to be in law enforcement, it was the least we could do,"

As you may imagine many who were there to witness Christopher's dream come true were emotional as he cheered the announcement from Sheriff Edwards.

Here's the special moment when Christopher became an honorary deputy and got to hit the road in a police unit.
