The Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns softball team wanted to increase their offensive output in the doubleheader. The Cajuns would play Incarnate Word and Texas A&M-Corpus Christi in the doubleheader. The Cajuns would score 26 runs while allowing 0 runs to bring their record to 3-0 early in the season. They would win the first game 11-0 and the following game 15-0.

Kandra Lamb would start in the circle in game 1 for Louisiana which would be her first career start and she was impressive as she would record a no-hitter. It also helped that the offense put up 10 runs so she would be able to relax on the mound.

The Cajuns would add 5 runs in the bottom of the first inning, 1 run in the 2nd inning, 4 runs in the 3rd inning and 1 run in the 4th inning. Bailey Curry had 3 RBIs and Lexie Comeaux hit her first home run of the year. The Cajuns would have a total of 11 hits to the Cardinals 0.

In game #2, the Cajuns would lead where they left off by scoring 15 runs in the match-up against Texas A&M Corpus-Christi. Neither team would score in the first inning but Sarah Hudek would start the scoring for the Cajuns in the 2nd inning when she hit a solo home run. Curry would add 3 RBIs in the 3rd inning with a 3-run home run. The Cajuns would 8 runs in the 4th inning putting the game away. Comeaux would add 2 RBIs for the Cajuns in the 4th, one on a foul out and one on an RBI double.

Summer Ellyson would pitch in the 2nd game allowing only 1 hit which came in the 2nd inning. Through 2 games, she has started from where she left off last season. Coach Roberts mentioned in the first press conference that Ellyson has the potential to be a superstar and so far she is on her way to superstar status.

The Cajuns have 3 games remaining in the Ragin' Cajuns Classic. They will face off against Texas A&M Corpus Christi again tomorrow at 4:30 pm and then they will play California in a doubleheader on Monday. Game 1 is scheduled top begin at 4 and game 2 will begin at 6 pm. The Cajuns will continue their home stand next weekend when they host the 33rd annual Louisiana Classics. They will play Jackson State, Austin Peay, and Stephen F. Austin.
