If you're heading to New Orleans anytime soon, you need to be watching your speed because the Louisiana State Police will be watching you from the sky!

LSP says they have finished installing signs notifying drivers of the new enforcement, and air patrols will begin at some point this week.

If they see anyone that is going a bit too fast, they are going to contact their associates down on the deck, and the guys on the deck will stop them and say, 'You know what, you're going a little bit too fast on the causeway,'" Lake Pontchartrain Causeway Commission Executive Director Carlton Dufrechou said. "'And here's your ticket.

 

Causeway police and Louisiana state troopers are urging for drivers to keep their eyes and attention on the road, and not on the sky looking for patrol planes.
