LSU Baseball Lands Alabama Ace Luke Holman From the Transfer Portal
The transfer portal was really good to the LSU Tigers baseball team last year (see: Paul Skenes, Tommy White, et al).
The Pennsylvania native decided on LSU after taking visits to Tennessee and Mississippi State. His decision ultimately came down to comfort after his visit to Baton Rouge last Wednesday.
“It was definitely different. They had their National Championship on the board and all that stuff. I felt comfortable there. It felt really comfortable,” Holman said. “The resources are amazing as well, as they are at all the schools, but it was awesome. Baton Rouge is a great place.”
Holman had a solid 2023 for the Crimson Tide. He posted a 7-4 record while boasting a 3.67 ERA in 81.0 innings pitched with 87 strikeouts. The hitters he faced combined for a measly .186 batting average against him.
The 6'4", 195-lb Holman will have two years of eligibility left.
The offseason transfer portal haul for the LSU Tigers baseball team has been pretty impressive again this year.
Holman joins three other pitchers heading to LSU including Xavier's Justin Loer, UCLA's Gage Jump, and his Alabama teammate Kade Woods.
LSU also added South Carolina infielder Michael Braswell and PAC-12 All-Conference outfielder Mac Bingham.
