LSU In Must Win Situation

I think we are well aware of who Stony Brook University is now. Yesterday the Sea Wolves of Stony Brook took LSU to extra innings. The Friday game was suspended because of weather and was completed earlier today. It took 12 innings for the LSU Tigers to defeat Stony Brook in the Baton Rouge Super Regional of the NCAA baseball tournament.

In the regularly scheduled game Stony Brook playing as the home team defeated the Tigers 3-1 setting up a winner moves on game on Sunday.

I think for most of us casual college baseball fans the match up between the mighty LSU Tigers and almost unheard of Stony Brook was a sweep in the making. I know I didn't give the Sea Wolves much of chance. They not only have a chance, they have a really good chance of messing up the Tigers plans of a return to Omaha and the College World Series. The game is set for a Noon first pitch at Alex Box Stadium in Baton Rouge on Sunday. Here's to hoping the good guys win!
