When you have the kind of year the LSU Tigers football team just had you don't want the magic to end. To help prolong the magic many fans of LSU are snapping up officially licensed merchandise that celebrates the Tigers 2019 Championship Season at a record pace.

According to reports, the all-time high for NCAA merchandise came in 2015 after Ohio State's championship run. Sales for LSU championship merchandise are reported to be running about 25% higher than that.

Believe it or not, the Tiger that's responsible for the most merchandise sales isn't a player. It's Coach Ed Orgeron. Coach O swag is flying off the shelves and being shipped all over the world. It's pretty clear, we in Louisiana aren't the only ones who really like the man.

Many retailers that carry licensed LSU merchandise opened their doors immediately after the Tigers had claimed the title Monday night. Other retailers opened bright and early the following day to throngs of Tiger supporters wanting to show their support for the state's flagship university.

Shoppers are reminded to check each item they purchase for authenticity. You should be looking for items that have been officially licensed by the NCAA or by LSU. That way you know a part of your purchase price is benefitting the Tiger program.
