The weekend that college football fans have been looking forward to for weeks finally came. It was the weekend that the College Football Playoff pairings would be announced. That means that schools not involved in the final four would also find out their post season fate.

Ragin Cajun fans found out their New Orleans Bowl opponent would be Nevada. Two other Louisiana schools found out their post season plans this weekend as well.

The LSU Tigers will be competing in post season play. This year they will travel to Nashville Tennessee to take on the Fighting Irish of Notre Dame in the  Music City Bowl on December 30th. The last time the Tigers and the Irish met in football was in 2007 in the Sugar Bowl. The Tigers won that game 41-13.

Louisiana Tech also found out their post season fate this weekend. They have been matched against Illinois in the Heart of Dallas Bowl on December 26th. Tech was defeated in their final game of the year against Marshal this past Friday night. The final score in that game, the Conference USA Championship, was 26-23
