I love the renewed rivalry with Texas A&M and the LSU Tigers. For many years LSU and A&M almost always opened the football season against each other and the games were always great. I am so glad to hear that this year the Tigers and Aggies will now be a featured game on Thanksgiving Night.

Kick off has been set for 6:30pm and the game will be televised nationally by ESPN. This will make for at least one good football game on Thanksgiving Day since the NFL will serve up the mildly amusing Detroit hosting Chicago, the always laughable Dallas Cowboys hosting the Philadelphia Eagles and rich people who can afford to pay extra money for the NFL Network will be offered the Seattle Seahawks hosting the San Francisco 49ers.

Another reason I am happy to see LSU and Texas A&M play on Thanksgiving is because this rivalry is real. The made up pretend rivalry with Arkansas never really captured the imagination like Aggies and Tigers. Besides the LSU /Arkansas trophy, 'The Boot' may be the most God awful trophy ever created. It is almost worth losing the game not to have to bring that thing home.
