Authorities in Crowley have arrested a man for deliberately setting a fire that destroyed two storage units in that city. The Louisiana State Fire Marshall's office was called in to investigate the blaze. The findings of their investigation lead them to 37-year-old Marcus Istre. Istre was arrested on simple arson charges.

Police alleged that Istre was actually living in one of the storage units that was damaged in the blaze. According to reports, there had been an eviction notice served by the property's owner on the unit in which Istre was living.

Investigators with the State Fire Marshall's office discovered inconsistencies in Istre's story concerning the blaze. He was arrested on simple arson charges on Thursday following the results of the State Fire Marshall's office investigation. He was booked into the Acadia Parish Jail his bond has been set at $25,000.
