Man Calls 911 After Getting Overcharged One Cent for a Beer

On Monday afternoon in Memphis, Tennessee, 51-year-old Danny Smith went over to his favorite convenience store to get him a cold brewski. When the clerk gave him his change, Danny thought he was shorted one cent.

Yep, a whopping penny we're talking here. The clerk refused to open the drawer and get his penny.

So, Danny did what any law-abiding citizen would do, he called 911 to report a robbery!

When told by the operator not to use 911 for non-emergency situations, he called back. That was enough for the cops as they actually came out to the store and arrested Mr. Smith for misuse of 911.

There's no word if he ever ended up getting his penny.
