Mosquito Spraying By Military Plane In Lafayette To Be Concluded This Week
The Lafayette Consolidated Government has issued a press release to let citizens know that the U.S. Air Force's 910th Airlift Wing is expected to complete their spraying mission on October 29, 2020.
Many around Lafayette were surprised to see the massive military plane flying low overhead, as it was on a mission to defeat all of those mosquitos that were driven into the area by hurricanes.
The spraying by the military aircraft began on Monday, October 26 and covered over 100,000 acres, according to the press release.
No flights will occur until Thursday of this week to allow Hurricane Zeta to make its way through the Gulf Coast. No further spraying is expected to occur in Lafayette Parish after this week.
