The makers of a rap video have inadvertently contributed to one of the stars of that video having an entry made on their rap sheet. This after Lake Charles Police used video evidence from a music video shoot to build a case against a former felon.

On July 24th Lake Charles Police were alerted to video evidence in the form of a music video that was being filmed in McMillan Park in Lake Charles. LCPD was currently in the midst of a shooting investigation that had happened in the park earlier in the month.

Using the music video to build a case, detectives with LCPD identified 37-year-old Adrent Damone Carter as one of the individuals depicted in the video. They also identified the weapon that was in his possession at the time of the video shoot. To be clear, the video did show several individuals brandishing weapons, including several juveniles.

Last week a warrant was obtained by the Lake Charles Police Department SWAT team and detective division. They served that warrant and made the arrest on Carter without incident.

Carter is currently being held on firearms charges including possession of a firearm by a convicted felon and possession of a firearm in a City Park. Carter has also been charged with three counts of contributing to the delinquency of juveniles.
