As the magical date "10/21/2015" from the movie "Back To The Future 2" quickly approaches, the internet is buzzing about predictions the movie made about the future. The one thing we've all wanted are those awesome hoverboards. Scientist Neil deGrasse Tyson says don't hold your breath, because it's never going to happen.

The hoverboards from the movie are able to go anywhere. They traveled on grass, water, concrete, anywhere. TV host and all-around awesome person Neil deGrasse Tyson now breaks our little hearts as he gives us the cold hard truth.

Neil deGrasse Tyson tells Huffingtonpost.com -

"There are people working on it, and there are working versions of it, but hoverboards that cover everywhere? Where you would have taken a skateboard? I think that’s unrealistic, and it requires a special under surface to support it," Tyson said.

"I can imagine hoverboards in certain hoverboard venues where they've actually done the physics right in the hoverboard and the ground surface as well," Tyson continued. "But otherwise, no."

So, there you have it Marty McFly fans. No hoverboards. Maybe we can still get those awesome self lacing Nike Moonboots?
