A brand, new axe-throwing venue will be opening later this summer in Youngsville, Louisiana.

The name of the place is Rogue Hatchets and it will be located at 2018 Chemin Metairie Pkwy, Suite C (next door to Marble Slab Creamery / Great Amerian Cookies).

The skinny on Rogue Hatchets

As you can see in the post above, Rogue Hatchets will feature seven axe-throwing lanes along with three designated dart-throwing lanes. Additionally, the venue will include a lounge area with multiple TVs.

One of the unique aspects of the new business will be its BYOB policy.

Rogue Hatchets co-owner Spencer Howard said that this will definitely be a highlight for the patrons.

"I know all of us in south Louisiana are always looking for a reason to drink," Howard told us.

The inspiration behind opening up this new venue.

Howard said that he and his neighbor, Ryan Gajan, went to an axe-throwing place in Destin, Florida last year and fell in love with it. They just knew they had to bring that back to Youngsville.

They started getting the proverbial ball rolling back in September 2023.

The market is primed for more.

As popular as axe throwing is across the country, the Acadiana area is fairly barren of venues.

We are only aware of one full-time axe-throwing venue in Lafayette and that's The Axe Throwing Place, located on Bertrand Drive.

All The Rage in Broussard has a small room that features axe throwing, but the business is known as a Rage Room.

Hours of operation for Rogue Hatchets

When it opens, Howard tells us that Rogue Hatchets will have the following hours of operation:

  • Tuesday - Wednesday, Noon - 10:00 pm
  • Thursday - Saturday, Noon - Midnight

We sure do wish this new business the best of luck when it does open.

You can follow along with their progress and keep updated on that opening date on their Facebook page or the website RogueHatchets.com.
