New Red Velvet Oreos Are Coming Just in Time for Valentine’s Day

If you have listened to the morning show for more than 15 minutes, you know how much I love cookies. Shoot, I love them so much that I try to give them up for Lent every year.

So you can imagine my anticipation after the good folks at Nabisco announced that there will be a new Oreos flavored cookie coming out for Valentine's Day -- Red Velvet Oreos.

The Red Velvet Oreos use red cookies and cream cheese-flavored filling.

My mouth is already watering.

If you're wondering to yourself, "Hey, haven't they tried some crazy Oreos flavors lately?" The answer is a resounding "Yes!"

In the past few years there have been some pretty crazy fillings. How about stuff like Candy Corn Oreos, Watermelon Oreos, Rainbow Sherbet Oreos and a few more. However, the cookies have always been either chocolate or vanilla.

The red cookies are only the third color of cookies in Oreos history. They started with the chocolate cookies in 1912 and the golden vanilla in 2004.

The new Red Velvet Oreos actually come out February 2nd and will be on sale for at least six weeks. Depending on how they sell will determine if they become a permanent fixture down your favorite cookie isle.
