Notre Dame & Northside Christian Claim State Softball Championships
Congratulations to the Notre Dame Lady Pios and the Northside Christian School Lady Warriors on their victories this weekend at the LHSAA State Softball Tournament. They claimed the championships in their respective divisions!
Northside Christian of Crowley shut out Family Community in the final Division V game 15-0 on Saturday at the tournament in Sulphur.
The Lady Pios out swung Holy Savior Menard 7-4 to take home the hardware for Division III.
Acadiana was well-represented, and several teams performed well in the three-day event.
Morgan City fell just short of the Class 4A championship title, falling to Deridder 5-1 in the final game.
Crowley High and St. Thomas More both made it to the second-to-last round. Caldwell Parish defeated Crowley Saturday afternoon 7-2 in Class 3A, before moving on to the championship game and winning over Pine Prairie. Parkview Baptist outscored St. Thomas More 12-10, and then claimed the Division II championship with a win over St. Charles.
