The excitement of the College Football postseason is about to begin. There will actually be bowl games tonight (Dec 20) and the postseason party will continue all the way through the first couple of weeks in January. The LSU Tigers hope to be one of those teams still competing in January but to do that they will have to face and defeat an Oklahoma Sooners team that suddenly finds itself, short three players.

According to reports, Oklahoma has suspended Ronnie Perkins, Rhamondre Stevenson, and Trejan Bridges. Perkins is a sophomore star on the Sooners defense. In fact, he leads the team in sacks. Stevenson, a running back, has averaged more than eight yards per carry this year. Bridges plays the wide receiver position for Oklahoma.

When asked about the suspension Oklahoma Head Football Coach Lincoln Riley did not comment. Although he did acknowledge that he was aware of the suspensions. As you've probably figured out the reasons for the suspensions have not been made public.

Another fact that could be a concern for Oklahoma should they managed to defeat LSU in the Peach Bowl on December 28th is would the players be eligible to return for the National Championship Game. You'll note the reports say the players are only suspended through the end of the year. It's not been made clear whether that means the calendar year or the end of the football season which would come in January.
