One Dead, One Injured Following Late Saturday Night Shooting in Lafayette
The Lafayette Police Department has informed us that late last night one person was fatally shot and another was injured.
According to LPD, officers responded to a call of a shooting in progress around 10:45 pm on Saturday, July 15 in the 100 block of Railroad Street.
Upon arrival, police located two subjects suffering from apparent gunshot wounds.
Emergency personnel arrived on the scene and immediately began life-saving measures on one of the victims. The victim, however, later succumbed to his injuries from the shooting.
The second victim was taken to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
Investigators are still actively working on this incident.
