The Grand Ole Opry is a country music treasure, and is the oldest running radio show in history! It has been on the air continually since Nov 8, 1925, and has broadcast from several different locations, including the Ryman Auditorium in downtown Nashville. When the Opry moved to its new, and current home in 1974, one of the first performers on stage was Opry member Sarah Ophelia Colley Cannon, better known as Minnie Pearl. Check out the awesome video of this future member of the Country Music Hall of Fame below - hooray for country music!
