The "Friends of Palmetto Island" group has announced a "Pictures With Santa" event coming to the park on November 30, 2019.

Palmetto Island is one of Louisiana's most beautiful state parks, situated along the banks of the Vermilion River in Vermilion Parish. With primitive and improved campgrounds, RV hook-ups, cabins, meeting rooms, fishing, splash pad, boat launch and educational programs, Palmetto Island State Park is a true asset to Louisiana.

To help keep the park alive, the Friends of Palmetto Island have events throughout the year to raise funds. From cook-offs to plate lunch sales, Mardi Gras parades to cooking demonstrations, you're bound to find an event you don't want to miss.

This year's "Pictures with Santa" event will take place on November 30 at the pavillion near the canoe launch, from 10am until noon.  Just prior to the photo op, Santa will make his way through the campground on his Cajun sleigh.
