If you could help save the life of a child by doing something as simple as taking a walk in the park you would do that wouldn't you? We all would do that. Guess what? A walk in the park and in downtown Lafayette on November 17th could help save the life of a child. It's the St Jude Give Thanks Walk.

It's not a run, it's not a timed event, it's not a showcase for elite athletes, it's a walk. A short simple stroll beginning at Parc San Souci in downtown Lafayette.

Registration begins at 8am and the walk starts at 9am. You can sign up as a family or a company or a group of neighbors or as anything. The idea is to get as many people involved as you can. You can find out more by visiting the official site for the walk.

I know I will never have the skill of a surgeon, the intelligence of a Nobel Prize winning researcher, or the patience it takes to be a nurse. I do have the skill to take a short walk on a fall morning downtown. That is how I can help save the life of a child and you can too. Please join me in the St Jude Give Thanks Walk on November 17th. It is something you and I can do together. It's something we can all do to make a difference.
