Ransomware Could Be Ready To Attack Your Computer

A security flaw in Adobe software could leave a billion computers and computer type devices vulnerable. A Japanese software maker Trend Micro Inc. said it had warned Adobe it had seen attackers taking advantage of the flaw to infect computers with ransomware known as 'Cerber'. Today on 'Geaux Acadiana' Ken Romero and Dr. John Sutherlin discussed the issue with Reagan Brock of E Solution Group. Brock is a 'white hat hacker' hired to discover vulnerabilities in computer systems. Brock said the ransomware is released by Adobe's Flash Player software and can take over an individual device or a network and encrypt data with a demand for ransom to unlock the device(s).

Brock said,

Adobe is advising people to go to get.adobe.com/flashplayer and download the software patch. That patch should be downloaded immediately and maybe a couple of times again next week.

He also advised doing a Cloud backup to have an offsite back of valuable data.
