Earlier this week we told you to brace for a road closure at the intersection of Rue Du Belier and Dulles Drive due to the construction of a roundabout.

Well, that's not happening today as planned. The reason? The inclement weather.

Officials with the City of Scott released that information yesterday. They said that to properly stripe the detour road, conditions must be dry.

They will release an official press release as soon as work can resume. But in the meantime, drivers are urged to obey all traffic and stop signs.

If anyone has additional questions, they're asked to contact City Hall at (337) 233-1130.

Scott Mayor Jan-Scott Richard said the project is expected to take eight months once it does start (weather permitting). The completion date is projected for April 16, 2023.

To help with detouring during this time period, two new traffic lights have been installed at nearby intersections in an effort to help with traffic flow. Those new lights have been installed at Dulles Drive and Le Violon Road along with West Congress Street and Le Violon Road.

The City of Scott put together a very informative video to help motorists navigate the area during construction. You can find that video here.

And below is a map of the Apollo Road Roundabout construction project and the suggested detour route.
