
St. Martin Parish Road Closed August 24 Through September 14 for Drainage Work
ST. MARTIN PARISH, La. - The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development (DOTD) has announced a road closure in St. Martin Parish that will affect traffic over the next three weeks.

Closure Details: Where, When, and Why
According to DOTD, LA 92-1 (Smede Highway), approximately 0.75 miles west of its intersection with LA 31, will be closed to traffic from Monday, August 24, at 7 a.m., through Monday, September 14, at 7 a.m., weather permitting.

The closure is necessary to install new drainage structures across the roadway.
Detour Routes for Westbound and Eastbound Traffic
The detour routes are as follows:
- Westbound traffic: Take LA 31 (South Main Street) north to LA 96 (Terrace Highway). Continue west on LA 96. Then, take LA 182 (Old Spanish Trail Highway) south toward LA 92-1 (Smede Highway).
- Eastbound traffic: Take LA 182 (Old Spanish Trail Highway) north to LA 96 (Terrace Highway). Continue east on LA 96. Then, take LA 31 (South Main Street) south toward LA 92-1 (Smede Highway).
Motorists are encouraged to plan ahead, follow posted detour signs and allow additional travel time.
Critical Alert: Emergency Vehicles Cannot Access LA 92-1 During the Closure
Emergency vehicles will not have access during the closure and should use an alternate route.
