Sacred Heart Parents Protest In Ville Platte

Parents, alumni and grandparents of students at Sacred Heart in Ville Platte say that Principal Mrs. Diane Fontenot should be removed immediately. There are currently protests happening at the school.

Parents say Mrs. Diane Fontenot has fired 83 teachers in the past five years, and feel she should be replaced immediately.

The protestors say they will be picketing in front of the school every day from 7:30am to 8:30am until the situation is resolved.

The Diocese of Lafayette did release a statement in response to the protest:

We are calling upon everyone who forms part of the Sacred Heart School community to conduct themselves positively and with Christian courtesy which is a hallmark of Catholic education. These last few weeks of school should be focused on remaining positive. Nothing should detract from this important time and from the graduation ceremonies ahead.
