The Fall semester is coming up for South Louisiana Community College, and tomorrow students can begin applying for more than $50,000 in scholarships.

In total, there are 37 scholarships up for grabs. Some include scholarships from  Elder Outreach, Cox Communications, Washington State Bank, CLECO, Louisiana CAT, Rotary of Lafayette, and A&A Appliance Center and even a scholarship funded by faculty and staff.

Scholarships are powerful tools that help recruit and retain our students,” said Lana Fontenot, SLCC’s Associate Vice Chancellor for Institutional Advancement and Executive Director of the SLCC Foundation. “There is no greater feeling to our scholarship donors than knowing they are helping provide an education to a student, and there is no greater relief to our scholarship recipients than knowing they can worry less about the costs of that education. Plus, they now have someone who is invested in their success.
