School boards throughout Acadiana--and south Louisiana-- are announcing closures for Tuesday, January 16 due to pending freeze warnings for tonight into tomorrow morning.

We will continue updating the list as school systems announce closures throughout the evening.

Lafayette Parish

All Lafayette Parish public schools will be closed Tuesday. LPSS officials will decide tomorrow if classes will resume on Wednesday.

The University of Louisiana at Lafayette will be open Tuesday, Jan. 16. Classes will be held as scheduled.

Students who are unable to travel to classes should contact professors. If a student needs further assistance, he or she can contact the Dean of Students Office at deanofstudents@louisiana.edu or (337) 482-6276.
Faculty and staff members who are unable to travel to work should contact their immediate supervisors.
The University will continue to monitor the National Weather Service. Should weather conditions change, information will be provided at official University websites and social media, or via the emergency notification system.

St. Landry Parish

All St. Landry Parish schools will be closed Tuesday.

St. Martin Parish

All Iberia Parish schools will be closed Tuesday.

St. Mary Parish

All St. Mary Parish schools will be closed Tuesday.

Iberia Parish

All Iberia Parish schools will be closed Tuesday.

Vermilion Parish

All Vermilion Parish schools will be closed Tuesday.

Jefferson Davis Parish

All Jefferson Davis Parish schools will be closed Tuesday.

Calcasieu Parish

All Calcasieu Parish schools will be closed Tuesday.

 

Other Acadiana parishes, including Evangeline and St. Landry, have announced that as of 3:30 p.m. today the schools are still open, but school system officials are closely monitoring the weather forecasts. Administrators will make a decision on the school status this evening.
