If football is religion in the South then the church that is most attended on Saturday is that of the SEC. The Southeastern conference debuts its own media network today. That network is supposed to provide coverage of all 14 of the member schools and the sports that they participate in.

LSU fans will be pleased to know that the Tigers will play a big part in the SEC Network's programming schedule. Already there are plans to create feature shows concerning LSU legends according to Herb Vincent who is associate commissioner of communications for the conference.

"There's already discussion about a Pete Maravich story, a Shaquille O'Neal & Dale Brown story, you'll see a lot coming down the pike that are specific to LSU."

Vincent related those comments in a story published by the Louisiana Radio Network.

The network promises to air 1,000 live events in its first year of programming will officially launch at 5pm today and should be available to most cable and satellite systems through out the footprint of the conference.
