Earlier this morning, Acadiana saw strong winds, flash flooding and huge hail. The storms have stopped for now, but a second wave of weather is headed our way.

The KATC Storm Team 3 Weather Lab along with the Storm Prediction Center has lowered our threat of severe weather from a moderate risk, to an enhanced risk, 30,% for the rest of the day.

They warn we could still see more of what we got earlier.

From KATC -

When the second round of storms begins to develop later this afternoon/evening, mainly after 4-5PM, these storms will bring the possibility for 60mph damaging wind gusts, more large hail and a few tornadoes.

With the ground already pretty saturated, we could also see more flash flooding around Acadiana.

We'll keep an eye on things and keep you posted as the system approaches later today, predicted to be around 4 to 5pm.
