No matter how many times you have been to Disneyland, or Disney World, there's always someone you know who's been there more. And they are very proud of that fact. Disney Experts. (You know who you are).

So, I was very interested to see what USA Today Travel had to say about some under the radar things to do in the park that even the insiders might not know about. These are so cool, so make your plans now if you are going to be putting on your Mickey Mouse ears and heading to California this summer!

  • Paddle your own canoe in actual water. The Davy Crockett Explorer Canoes is the only ride in the park that is free floating, with no tracks or rails. But you do have to have a guide with you
  • Get an art lesson from experts. The Animation Academy at California Adventure holds art lessons every 30 minutes with actual Disney Illustrators.
  • Purchase an original Disney work of art. Disney illustrations are famous worldwide, and you can actually buy one from Disneyana on Main Street, where illustrators sometimes leave their sketches for as little as $50.
  • Visit the Pet Cemetery. Yes, there is a secret pet cemetery near the Haunted Mansion, but it's in an area that is for cast members only. An employee can actually show you where the dozen or so tombstones used to be. They have now been moved to the main area of the attraction.
  • Take an actual tour. California Adventure and Disneyland proper both have tours available with employees to show you around the park. Kids might get bored with all the insider info, and it's right around 3 hours. But worth the $109 if you're a true Disney buff.
