Security Increased for Bayou Country Superfest
In light of the bombing at a concert in Manchester, England earlier this week, the Mercedes Benz Superdome is preparing for increased security at Bayou Country Superfest this weekend.
Bigger crowds than usual will bring out a heavy police presence, according to WDSU TV in New Orleans. Be prepared for bag searches, canines, and intensified security screenings. And since this will be in the Superdome, we are pretty sure that the NFL policy concerning the size of bags and purses will also be enforced.
According to the Superdome website, Prohibited items include: Bags larger than 12”X12”X6”, gym bags, backpacks, school bags, oversized packages, cans, bottles, weapons, missiles, fireworks, contraband, video cameras, recording devices, beach balls, Mace, laser pointers, cameras with lenses exceeding 6” or cameras with detachable lenses, banners (large or in poor taste), glass, noisemakers, outside food and drink, projectiles, sticks/bats/poles (includes Selfie Sticks), GoPros, iPads, tablets, beach balls, video/audio recording devices, helium balloons, glitter, stickers and containers of any kind are prohibited on the Mercedes-Benz Superdome property.
