UPDATE: Reports are that the game will be played at the Mercedes-Benz Superdome on Saturday. Game time set for 8:30pm.

LSU was scheduled to play BYU at Houston's NRG Stadium on Saturday night to open their 2017 football season. That will be changing obviously due to the catastrophic flooding in the Bayou City.

The question is now, where to?

Nashville and Orlando along with New Orleans have emerged as potential playing spots for the game.

Jacksonville is also said to be in the mix, though officials there have not returned messages for comment.

ESPN has the rights to the game and according to reports should use "reasonable efforts" to reschedule the game if it is canceled due to extreme weather. That according to the game contract between the network and LSU.

LSU has a $4 million payday for playing in the game.

The Tigers are ready to host the game at Tiger Stadium if need be, but ESPN may want to keep the game at a neutral site.

Stay tuned as the decision from ESPN should come soon so teams and fans can prepare.
