Loose shopping carts can be a bigger problem than most people realize, and police in Slidell are doing their part to keep those problems at bay.

According to WDSU, thousands of vehicle insurance claims are related to stray shopping carts and back in 2013 Slidell police decided to take action.

Recently released vehicle dash cam footage shows police returning over a dozen shopping carts to local business. The Slidell Police Department posted the clip to their Facebook page.

The average cost of a shopping car ranges from $85-$250 a cart. So, one slow night back in May of 2013, two Slidell Police officers decided to help out a local business by bringing back their shopping carts.

The video itself is very entertaining, but all the extra music and sound effects added make it hilarious.

Remember kids, only YOU can stop shopping cart theft.
