This past Friday, just a week before Christmas, a Sunset family of seven lost everything in a tragic house fire.

KATC.com reports The Broussard's family home is a devastating total loss, a handful of their belongings did somehow make it through the fire, including their eight-year-old's favorite Snowflake, an Elf on a Shelf.

Meghan and Jeremy Broussard say they have only lived in their home since March of this year.

Even though the family has lost everything, just days before Christmas, they say they're thankful to still have each other.

A gofundme has been set up for clothes  and monetary donations.

From the "Help the Broussard’s Re-Build Their Home" started by Abbey Fontenot -

"My name is Abbey Fontenot, I am starting this fundraiser in hopes of helping my cousin (more like sister) and her family rebuild their brand new home that’s only a few months old. On December 18th, 2020 they lost their entire home to a house fire. Thankfully they are all OK, but unfortunately  they have lost everything. Meghan and Jeremy have 5 children, all girls. As we all know, 2020 has been a trying year for most of us, them included. Her husband Jeremy was laid off of work here in Louisiana and had to take the only job he could find which was out of state in Tennessee to provide for them. With Christmas around the corner & helping them rebuild, Any donations would be greatly appreciated. If you are not comfortable leaving a donation here, I will be collecting cash and check payments as well. Prayers are definitely needed and appreciated.
