The Lafayette Fire Department’s hazmat unit assisted in containing an ammonia leak at Guidry’s Catfish Thursday night. No injuries were reported, and the scene was cleared safely.

The hazmat technicians have stabilized a chemical solution that was producing orange smoke at a Lafayette business Thursday afternoon.

Louisiana State Police are working with hazmat crews and St. Landry Parish officials.

No students were in the cafeteria at the time of the concern of the carbon monoxide leak.
