As anticipation builds towards the opening of the Morganza Spillway on Sunday, authorities in St. Martin Parish are warning people not to drive, ride, or haul on top of public levees, effective immediately.
With the flooding Louisiana is currently facing, in most cases sandbags just aren't going to cut it. One family in Sabine Parish constructed a pretty massive levee surrounding their home just in time to hopefully keep everything safe.
Earlier today a Plaquemines Parish man called New Orleans TV station WWL from his attic. Why? Well, he and his family had to climb up to avoid rushing waters in their home due to a breached levee.
