It's been how long since the Deep Water Horizon Tragedy? Everyday it seems like there is some new reminder of how that tragedy not only affected our way of life in South Louisiana from a jobs standpoint. There are also the environmental effects that only time will truly tell what they might be...
Here in South Louisiana science plays a big part in what we do. I know we are famous for our food but our other big industries require a lot scientific know how. Where would we be with out scientist in our oil and gas production companies. Or how about the thousands of people that make a living in the medical field?
Battling through tropical storm conditions in the Bay of Campeche rescuers located a lifeboat from the Trinity II. Inside the lifeboat capsule they found 7 of the rig workers alive, two had perished and the 10th was still missing. South Louisiana residents Jeremy Parfait and Ted Derise were listed among the survivors.

The four workers from Acadiana have been identified as Jeremy Parfait of Houma, Craig Myers, Ted Derise Jr., and Nick Reed all of New Iberia. These men are all employed by Trinity Liftboats LLC of New Iberia.
Did that headline just make you choke a little bit too? It seems there is a certain President of a certain country that still doesn't understand America's energy situation? Or maybe it's me that doesn't get it, so I will yield to someone who actually has been in the energy business.
